Though no research has been done, and there are no statistics, head of the Criminal Justice Research and Planning Unit, Cheryl Willoughby, said there was enough evidence to suggest that school age children are vulnerable to the growing list of cybercrimes.

She presented several stacks of posters to the Ministry of Education recently which highlight various areas parents and children need to be aware of in order to protect themselves from the negative influences of social media.

The posters, which were originally to be presented to schools last October for Crime Awareness Month, have age-appropriate messages for children in both primary and secondary schools. (YB)
