Security Innovation Provides Automotive Cyber Security Expertise at the ETAP Forum in D.C.

William Whyte, Chief Scientist for Security Innovation, a cybersecurity provider and leader in the 2015 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Security Awareness Training, will be showcasing his expertise at the IEEE Experts in Technology and Policy (ETAP) Forum in Washington D.C.

William Whyte, Chief Scientist for Security Innovation, a cybersecurity provider and leader in the 2015 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Security Awareness Training, will be showcasing his expertise at the IEEE Experts in Technology and Policy (ETAP) Forum in Washington D.C.

During the forum, Mr. Whyte will be speaking as part of a panel that will discuss the privacy, security, and innovation challenges in the four aspects of “The Internet of Things” or IoT: transportation, health, Smart Cities, and Precision Agriculture. The panel will consist of four technical experts and two policy people from the Hill. Because of his extensive knowledge in security, especially around connected cars and vehicle to vehicle (V2V) communication, Dr. William Whyte has been designated as the panel’s transportation expert. Other panelists include Dr. Carl Landwehr, a Fellow of the IEEE; Professor Saifur Rahman, founding director of Virginia Tech’s Advanced Research Institute and Director of the Center for Energy and the Global Environment; Dr. Fink, lead inventor of PNNL’s Digital Ants technology; and Juan Carlos Zuniga, Principal Engineer at InterDigital.
