SEOUL, March 4 (Yonhap) — U.S. tech giant Microsoft Corp. opened a cybersecurity center in South Korea on Friday, which aims to join ties with local researchers to root out cyberattacks and crimes online.
The center, marking the seventh of its kind around the globe, aims to gather security-related data such as malicious code and share it with South Korean researchers such as the National Security Research Institute to improve cybersecurity.
Microsoft said South Korea’s developed infrastructure in the information technology industry makes it one of the key targets of cyberattacks from around the globe, adding that the company will lend support in improving the country’s online security.
The center can help various governmental and security organizations share their technologies with online service providers and banks, it added. For the full article click here
