Cybersecurity at the nation’s electric utilities is the focus of a new national center and an electric cooperative is taking a key role.
The University of Arkansas will lead the new cybersecurity research center, which will bring together experts from across the country to identify vulnerabilities to America’s power grid and come up with solutions.
Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corp. will be an industry partner for the center. The Little Rock-based G&T will serve as the primary beta test site for the security tools and technologies the center develops.
“Cybersecurity threats are one of largest, most complicated issues that power providers face and will continue to face in the future,” said Robert McClanahan, vice president of information technology for AECC. “We look forward to exchanging real-world experience and knowledge with our academic partners.” For the full article click here
