A British internet security start-up backed by Thaksin Shinawatra will seek new funding that would value the company at more than $1 billion, UK media reported last week.
It is not clear how many shares the fugitive former Thai prime minister has in the Surrey-based company, but he is listed as one of its four active directors, according to a filing in the UK.
Scentrics Information Security Technologies Ltd’s shareholders reportedly include the Vitol oil tycoon Ian Taylor.
The eight-year-old company made a cybersecurity breakthough last year when it successfully developed a way to prevent the hacking of electronic messages. For the full article click here
