S21sec, Among the Companies Working With the EU to Develop a Global Framework for Cybersecurity

S21sec, a leading cyber security company, today announced that it will actively participate in the development of future guidelines for cybersecurity in Europe, through its role as a member of the group of companies that will work with the European Commission to improve the EU policy on this field.Last Tuesday, the European Commission announced a Public-Private-Partnership (cPPP) with the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO ), a multi-business organization including security market players, national authorities and other entities, acting on behalf of the private sector. S21sec is a founding member of ECSO.

According to a recent PwC survey, at least 80% of European companies have suffered at least one cybersecurity incident over the last year, and the number of security incidents across all industries worldwide rose by 38% in 2015. “This damages European companies, whether they are big or small, and threats to undermine trust in the digital economy, says Xabier Mitxelena, CEO, S21sec. “With our participation in this project, we aim to contribute to build a strong, harmonized and competitive European cybersecurity market across all sectors.
