Asian cybersecurity spending soars amid hacking fears

Spending on cybersecurity will more than double to $170 billion a year by 2020, according to analysts. North America and Europe are the biggest markets, but the Asia-Pacific is increasingly investing in this area amid concerns about hacking. Asia-Pacific spending should hit $32.9bn by 2019, with compound annual growth of 14.1% until then. The region is one of the fastest growing spenders, beaten only by Latin America, which will grow at 17.6% a year. Spending will be heavy in aerospace, defence and intelligence. A cybersecurity expert warns that Asian companies are ill-prepared to deal with the cybercrime threat.
