UMSL recognized for cybersecurity program

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the National Security Agency have designated the University of Missouri-St. Louis a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education.

UMSL is one of only two schools in the state to be awarded the honor. Missouri University of Science and Technology received the same designation in 2015.

The distinction comes just two years after UMSL started it’s cybersecurity program – a joint effort from the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Business Administration.

In the program, students learn how to be “ethical hackers” in hopes of being hired to combat criminal hackers. For the full article click here
